The hologram of Tupac Shakur that “performed” at the closing of Coachella this weekend with Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre reportedly cost somewhere between $100k and $400k to produce. The Shakur hologram, which was apparently Dr Dre’s vision, was brought back to life by the Hollywood special effects studio Digital Domain.
Though Shakur has been gone since 1996, he’s already back and up to speed with social media, with the Twitter handle @HologramTupac active since April 16 already netting more than 19,500 followers.
