American designer Alexander Wang has been confirmed as the new creative director of Balenciaga.
In one of the most hotly anticipated #NYFW shows of the week, Alexander Wang stripped his signature silhouettes back to the most basic of shapes, carving each item into flat planes.
Their construction lines were marked with sheer inserts and oversized fagotting, creating a geometric play on solid and sheer/light and dark. The result was architectural, linear and had an ineffable sense of modernity.
