This is the Brogue table by G&T, a new British furniture brand co-founded by Bethan Gray (who served as Habitat’s head of furniture up until 2008). It’s designed to age as well as a classic pair of brogues, hence the name - and the wax-thread stitched trim.
Cut-out marble ‘A’s made especially for the 2012 Creative Review Annual cover. Commissioned and shot by photographer Carl Kleiner.
Marble combined with wooden elements and a flash of colour was a key trend at this year’s Milan Design Week, especially at Salone Satellite, the pavilion dedicated to up-and-coming talent.
Taiwanese designer Jackie Wu’s Cracked vases are a perfect example, highlighting the imperfection of the wood with bright green lacquer.
